What is CrewSeek?
There are more boats plying the waters of the world’s oceans than ever before, and these vessels need captains and crew. At CrewSeek, it is our mission to provide an easy-to-use place for captains, crew, engineers, deckhands and all manner of mariners to find boats who need them, as well as a place for boat owners and managers to find the crew they need. Our sign-up process is quick, easy, and best of all, it’s free.

How does it work?
Captains & Crew
Within just a few minutes, you can create an account and post your profile for boat owners around the world to see. If a vessel’s owner is interested, he or she can hail you with our private messaging service, with which we will send you an email. If you are interested, you can reply to the hail and either communicate entirely through our private messaging service, or you can supply other contact information at your discretion. Alternatively, you can choose to hail a boat owner if you see a boat you might be interested in working on.
Boat Owners
After creating an account and filling out your profile, you can start browsing for crew. When you find an captain, delivery crew or engineer of interest, you can hail them and await their reply.

Why should I use CrewSeek?
Ease of use
CrewSeek uses a clean, straightforward interface to present only the most pertinent information to our users. At a glance, you can scan the most recently floated crew and vessel profiles, whether you are looking for a licensed captain to operate your boat, or are interested in crewing on an ocean-going yacht.
Privacy
CrewSeek is committed to preserving the privacy of users’ information. With our system, we are able to allow our users to contact one another without revealing our users’ email addresses or personal information. It is our policy to keep our users’ email addresses and other personal information secure, and we take this policy very seriously. We hate spam, and strive to reduce the number of undesirable email messages arriving in our users’ inboxes.

What does “floating” my profile mean?
When you first create your account and save your profile, it will be the very first profile to appear in our listing. As other accounts are created, they will start to appear on top, and your profile will start to “sink” lower and lower over time. When you are actively searching for boats or crew, you will want your profile to be noticed, so we allow you to “float” your profile once every day. All you need to do is sign in and save your profile again. This lets us know you’re serious about using our service, and it will put your profile right back at the top of the list!
I experienced an error. Why might that be, and what is Beta testing?
We’re sorry to hear that you experienced an error using the CrewSeek service. CrewSeek is currently in “beta testing” status, which means it’s basically ready for the public to use, but still has a few bugs to work out. As such, you may occasionally come across a feature that doesn’t work quite the way we intended.
If that happens, please feel free to contact us and let us know more details about what happened. We appreciate your input! Be descriptive!

How can I make a suggestion or feature request?
